A little bit about Dubrovnik

Hi Everyone!

How are you today? How did you spend your weekend?

Recently I have promised you a little mention of my favourite Croatian city: Dubrovnik. Ok, here goes!

Since childhood, during my summer holiday, I have been in the habit of traveling with my parents. I must admit that the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, Dubrovnik, made on me an incredible  impression.

Firstly, Dubrovnik is situated at the heart of one of the most renowned tourist destination in the Mediterranean Sea: Dalmatia. Each year a bit of people decide to spend their holiday here. Really nice weather, kind inhabitants and partys into the small hours - that's why I point this city as a place so attractive for everyone.

I recommend you to tour the fortress called Lovrijenak. However, you have to be in reasonably good shape :) There are so many stairs (too many for me...) but the fact is that you have an opportunity to burn off a few calories. Honestly, at the top I got to see absolutely breathtaking scenery: I found myself in entirely different world.

Furthermore, you should visit Sponza Palace. According to HotelClub:

"This historic Gothic Renaissance palace is one of the few buildings that has survived the catastrophic 1667 earthquake and has stayed intact. This is the finest architectural monument of Dubrovnik and is currently used to house the National Activities".

The entry fee will cost you just 22 Kuna and all that money is more than well spent as you admire the beauty of the Sponza. - See more at: http://www.hotelclub.com/blog/walled-city-of-dubrovnik-pearl-of-the-adriatic/#sthash.OSUEaise.dpuf

Personally, I think that the most interesting part was all that family bonding time. What's more, I love eating traditional Croatian food: my favourite dish is prawns with octopus and I have a strong yearning for Dubrovnik.

Welcome to Croatia!

 Hi Everyone!

How are you today? Although the weather is daunting and we are eagerly waiting to catch a whiff of spring I hope that you are taking full advantage of your free time. Btw, I recommend you to boost your immune system in an attempt to avoid catching a cold. You should make ginger tea with lemon and honey. This, I believe, is the best way to not get sick easily.

Today I would like to encourage you to plan your holidays in Croatia. In the world we can visit a lot of delightful and charming places but, in my opinion, Dalmatia is one of the regions which you have to see. I therefore think it is important to point out that this is one of the most popular and noteworthy tourist destination.
In Croatia you can admire not only breathtaking landscapes but also marvellous monuments. In this country you meet very hospitable and generous people. Furthermore, you have a chance to sample a large number of traditional dishes. If you are in no mood for visiting tourist attractions I suggest you to lie around on the beach all day.

Welcome back :)

Hi Everyone!

After a longer break I return to writing my blog. I am glad to announce to you that I will share my ideas and thoughts with you again. I am happy as a clam :)
I would like to know where and whom did you spend your vacation? Could you recommend me any charming and breathtaking place to visit? I encourage you to share your memories and experiences with me!

Today I decided to write a little bit about the post - vacation blues. Do you know what is this or you underwent it? I suppose that it's worth clarifing this notion. According to MyHealthPortal:

"This is a legitimate feeling and psychologists at the University of Granada in Spain have researched this condition, which they describe as a general feeling of discomfort on having to go back to work".

Thankfully, you can overcome this tipe of affliction: there are a lot of tips. Firstly, I recommend you to develop the habit of pursuing a healthy lifestyle: sleep well, get involved in sport and, obviously, be sociable. According to specialists, you should plan accordingly your back to work: thereby you dodge stress. What's more? You can meet with your friends and show them your vacation photos.

Good luck!

What great weather :)

It was a sizzling hot day yesterday! When the sun shines, it instills optimism and helps us to improve our mood. I am very happy because it was an excellent opportunity to sunbathe and, furthermore, admire the cloudless, blue sky. Ok, but we should remember that sunny weather can be not only fun but also very serious threat. When we relax and focus on our senses, we daydream. I would like to draw your attention to animals (chiefly to pets). According to American Veterinary Medical Association:

"Every year, hundreds of pets die from heat exhaustion because they are left in parked vehicles. We've heard the excuses: "Oh, it will just be a few minutes while I go into the store," or "But I cracked the windows..." These excuses don't amount to much if your pet becomes seriously ill or dies from being left in a vehicle." (https://www.avma.org/public/PetCare/Pages/pets-in-vehicles.aspx)

It is worth having in mind that the temperature into our vehicle rises in no time at all. We must not jeopardised our friends and we have to keep an eye on them. Moreover, we should take care of ourselves. How? It is as easy as anything.
Firstly, the sun is at its full intensity between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM and we should avoid getting burnt. An exposure to the sun is detrimental to our health: it has been proven by scientific means. Don't forget about sunscreen: you should spread it on the whole body. What is more, we should be well hydrated: heat waves can cause a major problem. What about our clothing? I recommend you to avoid synthetic fabrics and choose some loose and convenient outfit.  It goes without saying that we have to remember about some headgear.

I hope the weather will be fine tomorrow :)

Parents & Children

Hi Everyone!

It’s now approaching 1st June: Children’s Day. On the occasion of this holiday I would like to pay attention to today’s upbringing. In my point of view, now children are currently attempting to dominate their parents. What’s more they think they are the cat's whiskers and require to fulfill their desires. Unfortunately, as they get older, these wishes are increasingly sophisticated.

According to experts, we should remember that, in the end, the deciding factor is consistency. As regards disciplining children, it takes also patience. It turns out that children naturally emulate their parents: it is necessary to set them a good example. I believe that be parent is the most difficult role in the world. Why? It require tremendous dedication, involvement, availability… It’s worth making it clear where the boundaries lie. In my point of view, mutual respect and tolerance are the most important factors for success.
Do not forget about reward for the effort put in. What really makes children happy? Obviously they are big fans of suprises. However, it is also vitally important to galvanize them into action.
What about you? Do you agree with me?

The whole world runs!

Today I would like to say a few words about really popular form of physical activity. Do you go jogging? I know a lot of people who are fascinated by this type of excercise. But... What's the trick that makes it so much trending?

At first, it's worth realising that jogging differs greatly from running. According to web portal chron.com:

You might think running and jogging mean the same thing, but in fact they are actually different. The obvious difference between the two is the pace. Jogging is defined as going at a pace of less than 6 mph, while running is defined as anything faster than 6 mph. Other differences, including how your body burns calories and how your muscles react to the two exercises, define jogging and running.

Well, the diference between jogging and running is just intensity. If we go jogging regulary we have a lot to gain. It doen't refer only to this activity. In general, physical excercise and some changes to our diet have an important impact on frame of mind and healthiness. It has been scientifically demonstrated that physical activity helps to release endorphins: hapiness hormones. What conclusion would we draw from that? We should do excercise :)

Coming back to jogging, it offers us many benefits. That is why many people are  fervent runners. If you want to lose weight it's something for you. According to cardiologists, this type of exercise has a positive effect on circulation. What about persons who feel stressed and frustrated? Jogging permits them to relieve tension. Furthermore, it boosts our immune system, thus avoiding cold or flu.

Eat breakfast!

Hi Everyone!

The Harvard Medical School conducted a study which found that people who ate breakfast every day were 35% less likely to be obese. It needs to be recognised that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately, many people, especially younger people, forget about benefits which breakfast provides. Not only does it give you nutrients you need in the morning, but it also is an excellent occasion to spend a few minutes with your family.

If you want to start your day off right I recommend you to eat a nutritional meal (e.g. a bowl of whole grain cereals with buttermilk or porridge with fruits and nuts). According to experts, when you eat a healthy breakfast, it can help lower your cholesterol levels and lose weight. What's more, they affirm that this meal provides you impoved concentration. You know that people who normally eat eggs for breakfast overweight than those who choose high fiber bread?

I believe that we should adopt some healthy and simple habits: one of these is eating breakfast. Today you have a wide range of breakfast possibilities and, furthermore, it isn't very difficult activity. So let's do it :)
